Sharwood’s Puppodums are produced using a traditional Indian recipe and are cooked with dry heat. Typically served as an accompaniment to Indian meals, they are also treated as an appetiser or as snack foods. They are commonly served with onion or vegetable toppings, chutneys, dips or other condiments. Crisp and light, they are used in both curries and vegetable dishes.
Why not try tucking in to some as a snack with salsa or mango chutney.
There are two ways to cook Sharwood’s Puppodums:
Deep Frying: Heat oil in a large pan or wok to about 375°F. Fry one or two puppodums at a time, holding them under the oil with a metal spatula. Once the puppodums expand and become light brown in colour, remove from the wok and shake off excess oil. Best if drained on paper towel in an upright position.
Microwave: Cook in microwave oven one at a time on high setting for 40 to 60 seconds. Keep close watch to ensure they do not burn. Cooking times may vary.
Keep in a cool, dry place. Once opened, transfer contents in an airtight container to retain freshness.
Sharwood’s have been producing delicious condiments and sauces since 1889. Their product range extends from Chinese to Indian to Thai dishes.
